Dr. Arvind Lal is a Pathologist, and perhaps, the
most well-known pathologist in India. A pathologist helps in identifying the
diseases which a patient is suffering from, and in knowing their current
status, by performing laboratory testing on the patient's blood, urine, etc.

Qualifications and Early Professional Life of Dr. Arvind Lal
He wanted to become a fighter pilot in Indian Air Force,
but destiny had other plans for him. He was myopic and could not qualify in Air
Force due to eyesight issues. He pursued medicine form Armed Forces Medical
College and then completed his post-graduation in pathology from the same
institute.
The tragic and untimely death of his father caused him to
inherit and run the path lab founded by his father, which had by then an inflow
of around 30 patients per day.
Dr. Arvind Lal's Professional Success
Over the next four decades, he steered that solo lab to
become India's largest chain of diagnostic labs, servicing around 70,000
patients per day.
In his journey, Dr. Lal happened to organize the medical
diagnostics industry in India by introducing his hub and spoke model linked with
a franchise system. He also created one of the most valuable brands in the Indian
healthcare market, the "Dr. Lal Path Labs"
Dr. Lal Path Labs is well known for its quality reports
and boasts of several ISO certifications and accreditations like NABL, and
American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program, offering the widest
range of medical tests, close to people's homes, and providing them quality
test results, in their smartphones.
Legacy of Dr. Arvind Lal
His other notable professional contributions include
instituting a Public-Private Partnership with several state governments in
India and his leadership at the skill development for paramedical training in
the field of laboratory medicine.
Dr. Arvind Lal is a highly respected professional and has
received many honors from the industry as well as govt. of India. He has been
honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award by govt. of India for his
contributions to Indian healthcare.
He also holds the distinction of being appointed as the
honorary physician to several Presidents of India and has also been awarded the honorary Brigadier rank by the Indian Army. He has also been conferred the Lifetime achievement award
by the Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce.
More about the Personal Life of Dr. Arvind Lal
Dr. Arvind Lal knew of his limitations, and quite early
in his corporate journey hired a professional CEO to expand his services at the pan
India level as well as internationally. The company has operations in many
countries and is seeing double-digit growth. It crossed annual revenue of 1200
crores INR in 2018 -2019, directly employing over 4000 people.
His life partner as well as his professional partner, Dr.
Vandana Lal has supported him in all his endeavors and other than being the mother
of his son and daughter, also serves as a whole-time director in Dr. Lal Path
Labs Ltd. of which Dr. Arvind Lal continues as the Chairman and Managing
Director. He is a highly spiritual person and calls himself an accidental
entrepreneur and a corporate yogi.
